My Top 10 Movies

Well happy 4th to all the Americans reading, and happy wednesday to the others.  Today at work, I was talking to some of my friends about our favorite movies, so I thought Id make a list of my favorite movies, so here-goes:

#10 Fight Club

Fight Club is Fincher’s masterpiece. Sure, Panic Room was good and although I missed Zodiac, I heard it was good too. But Fight Club is one of my favorite movies of all time. From the outside looking in, it seems as though you could call it a guy film. Men fight each other, enjoy it and decide they want to take their hatred for society to the next level by destroying the empty things that the populace find so enticing. What’s better than that?!

#9 Inception

Inception… the name tells all.  This movie was one of Christopher Nolan’s best, including the Dark Knight and the upcoming Man of Steel.  Inception, plot line goes so far into itself, it feels like we are in the movie itself from first learning what it means to enter someone else’s dream to finding out how to get out of the 3rd layer of a dream.  I mean, it’s a dream inside a dream inside a dream.  Like wtf

#8 Pulp Fiction

Samuel. L. Motherf***ing. Jackson.  This movie is one of the most interestingly funny movies I’ve seen.  I mean it’s the kind of humor I see in everyday life.  Jackson and Travoltra are a perfect duo throughout the entire movie and are the embodiment of kill for money.

#7 Forrest Gump

I love you Jenny.  Throughout Mr. Hanks’ career, he has never really pulled off a roll quite like this.  As Forrest goes through his trials and triumphs, we realize that he does everything he does for one person, Jenny.  This movie brought laughs and tears to many around the world and made us realize what “passion” is.

#6 Saving Private Ryan

Yes, this is another Tom Hanks film, and yes its one of my all time favorites.  Following the Normandy Landings, a group of US soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action.  This is the ultimate story of loyalty and brotherhood.  To have pictured this essence in such a way gave this movie 5 Oscars and 6 nominees.

#5 Marvel’s The Avengers

Now how can you go wrong with Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk?  Answer is, you can’t.  Well at least Marvel didn’t with this adaption.  Based of a series of Marvel comics, this movie has become one of the Highest Grossing movies to be made.  With a cast of amazing actors and of course, Samuel L. Jackson again, this movie ranks #5 in my top 10.

#4 Liar Liar

Jim Carrey is by far one of my most favorite actors/comedic influence to ever hit the theaters.  Whenever I need a laugh, this movie never fails to achieve that task.  Liar Liar takes Jim Carrey and puts him into a position where he can’t lie for a whole day.  Doesn’t seem too bad, does it?  Well, he’s also a lawyer, which makes it about 100X’s worse.

#3 A Night At The Roxbury

Will.  Wait for it.  Ferrell.  He defines this movie.  Others may not put this movie on their top 10 or even top 20 movie list, but, I don’t care because this is my blog hah.  Two dim-witted brothers dream of owning their own dance club or at least getting into the coolest and most exclusive club in town, The Roxbury.

#2 The Shawshank Redemption

Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins star in this film about how two imprisoned men bond over a number of years, finding solace and eventual redemption through acts of common decency.  This movie is an instant classic and in the eyes of many, one of the best movies to have been on the big screen, which is why it is #2 on my list.

#1 Tron: Legacy

A sequel to the original Tron back in 1982, Tron: Legacy stars Jeff Bridges and Garett Hedlund.  I mean, Jeff Bridges!  One of the most original story lines (including the original Tron) and the most amazing soundtrack i’ve heard for a movie.  Disney and Daft Punk do a great job putting this together from the film itself to the actual music. Now this is “MY” #1 movie because it got me thinking.  It actual, somehow, helped me and my friends come up with a crazy business plan that will come into use later in years, but for now, Tron: Legacy is my number 1 movie.

Thanks to everyone who read and to everyone that has commented or are about to ;), but anyways, I hope you all like this countdown and if so like or follow thanks all!
